One of THOSE Days...

I have resorted to just letting my children act like animals for right now. I am tired...so tired of having to intervene ALL the time. Literally, someone is always crying about the injustice one of the other brothers has caused. Mommy cannot take it anymore. Today, it's survival of the fittest,boys...good luck with that.

With all the screaming, fighting and general rough-housing amongst them, I cannot concentrate...I am (blaming) dedicating this boring post to my children.

It begins with this:

I have lost all control. Obviously. I did have a couple hour break though, to get my hair cut...Thank you, Jesus...and my friend Shanon for watching them.

Before: (Ignore the junk on the counter)

After:

The hair-cut did make me feel better...but eventually I had to go home.

I am normally a total home-body. I love being at home. But the past few weeks, my children seem to turn into crazies here at home...and without a break, the house is a disaster. I've made the best possible choice ;) We're now going to avoid being home as much as possible, until August 18th comes around...which means...school. Hallelujah.

  1. I love the first photo, didn't even see them jumping until I looked a little closer, too funny!

  2. Your hair is ADORABLE!

I think your smart to avoid being home. Maybe you could find a park or McDonalds with WiFi...so they could do all the running and jumping they want and you could do a little blogging.

    Enjoy your day!

  4. Sarah - Oh how I wish we were neighbors! Our boys could get together in our back yard and could tire one another out! We could sit and enjoy the day while the kids got the crazies out!

I have days like that as well! Some days I just want to hide!

  6. So, SO, SO, SO LOVE IT...the hair I mean.

As for the rotten-ness of OUR children...well, thank God for these little "breaks" away from them. (And for school starting soon!)

  8. Love the haircut. My house is not great right now, either...which is sad since I only have 1 child. I'm trying to ignore it and focus on vacation coming up Saturday.

CUTE! And girl. I hear ya. I love my children but if the madness doesn't stop soon -- I will be the one who is mad....and I mean that in the Mad Hatter sort of way not angry way....but then again - I will probably be angry, too.
I've been working on a post about behavior issue's/child rearing....maybe I will get it posted some time soon!

  12. Too funny! Now you can just add "referee" to your job description.

  13. Ohhh, it must be the end of the summer plague. It's been going on here too, and I agree - less time at home is better, unless it's at you know, Wal-Mart, with all the kids. I don't recommend that. Visiting friends is nice though.
I hope it gets better (there and here)! :)
Also, cutest haircut ever. :) If you gotta be referee, at least you can be a cute one!

  14. Hoping your day has been "good" and that your cute "stylin'" hair cut has given you the lift you needed.

I'm right there with you... just a few years behind... :)

  16. I so want your hair!! I wish I had your curls. It looks great both ways. I too have curls but way too many so it is impossible to straighten.

There are some days where you just have to get out of the house or either you will go insane or your kids will demolish the place. Yeah, I have those days too.

  17. Love the hair! Let me know when you are headed to the pool here. I have found from experience that being gone only makes the mess multiply! Sorry to rain on your parade! (I guess if you eat out all the time it may work!)

  22. Okay, I ENVY you and your beautiful hair! I love it! It's so pretty.

My days, here lately, have been like the one you describe! So much fighting & yelling going on. And it is driving me CRAZY! Which puts me in a BAD mood and makes me scream at them for screaming. Then they look at me like i have lost my mind.

    And the taco sauce.
Must be a boy thing- my son was just repeatedly throwing one of his sisters dolls into another toy- I told him to get outside and play on the swing set NOW to get rid of some of that craziness!

  27. This post actually made me feel better - if chic and wonderful Miss Sarah has the same issues at her house as I do, maybe, just maybe I'm okay. :)
Love the hair as well. I get to go get mine cut on Thursday - and guess what?? Trisha gets to babysit for me!! It will only be about a half hour, I would nver leave any one I loved with 6 boys for longer than that!! :)
