Introverted Complications...

It turns out...that people who blog once a month are totally boring.  "Someone" needs to get with the program.

This morning I scheduled all the kids doctor, dentist and eye appointments they need before going back to school.  I bought Jake a new backpack yesterday while I was at Target.  (I'm not sure the kid has had a new backpack ever) And some new socks.  Is it only July 16th?  Yes, yes it is.  Am I one of those moms who already wants to send her kids back to school?

Kinda.

I kinda do.

Or I need a vacation.  An alone vacation where I don't have to pick up after anyone or talk to anyone or listen to anyone

I need a break from the talkie.  Does anyone else need a break from the incessant talking?  There must be a support group or something...the "I Wish People Would Shut Up" club.  Kidding.  A little bit.

I can't seem to get away from people this summer.  You introverts will totally get what I'm saying...and you extroverts will think I'm being rude.  Ha.  I love people, I do.  But without regular breaks from them, I'm left depleted.  The tricky part is trying to figure out how to get a break without hurting peoples feelings...because there's lots of people and lots of needs.

So in real life I'm hiding out for a bit.  Just a little bit.  And then I can like people again.  I just heard all the introverts say Amen.

  1. Funny and totally true...we are leaving on family vacay in a couple of days to Pawleys Island, SC and from what we read on Trip Advisor while planning the vacation, people were complaining that the beach was "so quiet" with "hardly any people on it"....SIGN ME UP!! :)
Praying you can find some quiet space to fill your mind with soon...

  3. *amen*
I'm an odd duck introvert...I want all my people (but just my people) with me but quiet, snuggly, watching a tv show that I pick, and letting me eat the majority of the popcorn. One can dream, right? ;)

  4. I'm an extrovert, but sometimes I need a break from people- - especially when their needs are draining my emotional resources. As a PW and a mom, that happens frequently. And I'm kindof looking forward to back-to-school as well. LOL. I hope you get a break soon!

  5. I've always been an extrovert. I married an introvert. But in the last year, we've traded our 'verts'. I've become an introvert. I enjoy staying home, maybe too much. It's something I've been struggling with. Can/should pastor's wives be introverts? Maybe God doesn't mind for a little while. I don't know, but I'm glad to read I'm not the only one.

  6. This is TOO funny! As I sit here "trying" to read this, my 19 YEAR old is talking. non-stop. as she has done all day. I need that same solitary vacation! Yes, I am an introvert, too....
