Sickly...

Life in the parsonage today...

Sunday night Eli and I started feeling sick...both with different stuff.

Turns out his is Strep. He's on his 2nd day of staying home from school so that he doesn't infect his friends. First Day: Just felt lousy, laid around. Second Day: Feels great but still contagious...which means another day of Star Wars movies and building.

Jakob has been giddy the past two days with his new found freedom. Mom sick and brother sick means complete and utter access to all he wishes. This morning he fed himself (and Odie) shredded cheddar cheese...right from the bag. He's moved furniture around to accommodate his needs and dumped powdered laundry soap all over the mud-room...but not to worry, he assured me "It smells good, mom."

There is no rest for the weary...with Jake in the house. And I don't want to send him to a friend, because chances are...he's gonna get strep too...cause we share like that.

He is entertaining though...I give him that ;)

  1. No rest for the weary is right. Sounds like your house is quite busy!! I hope you are feeling better soon and things get back to 'normal'.

  4. Oh, I hate strep with every fiber of my being. The Manimal managed to get it when he was 8 mos old. Nobody in my ped's office had ever seen it that young. SS#1 finally had his tonsils out last year, so (knock wood) we haven't had any since. I'll be praying for all of you (and especially for mom, since you get to deal with sick boys, which are never fun--at any age!).

  7. You poor thing! I hope the boys get better soon!

At least you've taught them the ever-important trait of sharing. :)

  8. Hey! Got the Dress at Dillards on the sale rack! Yahoo!

On a very serious note, Mels brother hit a deer while riding his motorcycle late Friday night. He was on life support when my aunt called us and they were on the way to the hospital. I'm afraid he didn't make it. Please everyone say a little prayer for their family and keep them in your thoughts. It's a very sad time for them.

  15. Shredded cheese ... not as good as bacon from the bag and Hee Haw. (wink, wink)

  16. I bet you've totally forgotten what "bored" feels like, huh?

Illness that leads to whining and whatnot. Laundry soap messes. Shredded cheese messes. Wet toilet paper "cleaning" messes.

Good gravy!! I wish I could swing by your house and bring you some Starbucks. Sounds like you could use it! :)
