There are times when I hear something and it just HITS me.  Sticks with me.  Changes me.

Beth Moore is hitting me hard lately.  I love watching the DVDs that go along with this study.  Her passion for God's Word is inspiring and contagious, and what I love most about her is that everything really is all about Him.

Here's what I scribbled down Tuesday night during Bible Study as we watched her DVD.  I feel like I can't write fast enough to catch all the good stuff, and if I don't write it down...*poof*  it's gone!

  • Peace and ease are not the same.
  • Many times we don't have a knowledge problem, we have an obedience problem.
  • Part of being spiritually mature is ceasing to equate hard with bad.  Just because something is easy doesn't mean it is good.
I can't get these out of my head.  I have a feeling I know why.  There's a theme going on...

I love that God loves me enough to keep leading and guiding.  Not because He needs me, but because He wants me.

  1. Gotta love Beth Moore!!! I'm lovin' the Esther study that we are doing right now by her. You should ask Chris if you could borrow it next for tiny town Bible study group.

  2. I like that - "Not because He needs me, but because He wants me."

  3. Wow, I'm so glad you shared your thoughts. I love Beth Moore! She always makes me think!

  4. Andrea: Yeah, I stole that from Casting Crowns, they've enabled me to not have an original thought :)

  5. I think you have to watch those DVDs at least 5 times to catch it all!

  6. This exact thing stuck out to me too. So much so that I remember what you're talking about. I love it when parts of a study are never forgotten, they work their way in and stick.

You're hilarious about "stealing" stuff from Casting Crowns.

  7. My margins look like your margins. Scribbled full of notes. Then while you are writing one profound thing, she says another profound thing and I don't get either of them written down right.

  8. love that last line ... Not because He needs me, but because He wants me.

    Printing it out right now.

God continues to use you in might ways friend ... keep on PRESSING IN & LOOKING UP!

  9. I can't hear that stuff enough! I always need to be reminded.

  10. the last point really resonates with me:

just because something is easy doesn't mean it's good.

  11. So, so good! I think I will be reading and re-reading this post several times. I really need it to sink in!

  12. I love your third bullet - I hope to remember it the next time something "hard" comes along. Very encouraging!

  13. Oh, wow...peace and ease are not the same thing. Wow. That is hitting me hard right now...and putting a lot of things into perspective...

God always uses you to speak into my life, girl. :) Thank you.

  14. I've kept this post bookmarked, Sarah, because it made me DIE laughing to see someone else butcher their Beth Moore notes like that. It's like you can't write fast enough, isn't it?

You're making me want to go back and do this study again. It's profound. I could probably do it once a year and get new stuff every time. The Holy Spirit is like that.

  15. Oh, girl, you should see some of my listening guides! It's like I think I must write down every word the woman said! Except for the first session of "Beloved Disciple"--anyone done that one? How hard was it to lay the pen down?
