Just Skip This One...

Mondays.  Generally not my favorite day of the week.  But today...

Ben is on vacation this week from his secular job.  *smile*  I had to throw that in there because it makes me laugh...I have no idea why it makes me laugh...just does.

I've compiled a lengthy list of to-do's that I'd like to get accomplished while he's here.  Exciting stuff, like clean the basement and re-caulk the tub/shower.  That's how fun I am.

Today though, it's raining (again.)  And I'm thinking it would be a good day to go visit our new Sonic.  Because we've never eaten at a Sonic.

I just heard you all gasp in unison.

And, located near the new Sonic is a Christian Book Store that has this little book on sale.  I'd like to read it before my Julie comes to live here.  I've got three months to get it done.

I'm off...

  1. Before everyone starts to gawk at your non-Sonic-ness, I thought I'd jump in and said -- I've also never eaten at Sonic.

    You are not alone.

  2. If you eat at Sonic...and I definitely think you should, try their Cheddar Bites. YUM! Also, they have the best drinks. I always get Vanilla Coke but if you're more adventurous than me, they have ALL KINDS of flavor options!

  3. Since Kelly admitted it so will I, never eaten at Sonic either.
We're in MN, as far as I know there is only ONE Sonic here. I tried to eat there, but the line was INSANE, I'm talking you couldn't exit the freeway and cops where waving you on couldn't get there!!!
So, yeah I've never had a cherry lime aid from Sonic.

  5. You Northerners are so Sonic deprived it makes me want to cry! It is essential to us down here. I mostly just get drinks (Happy Hour 2-4 EVERYDAY), but some food is good. Their grilled cheese sandwiches were a staple for me when I was in college. Too bad it takes 2-3 of them to get full!

Enjoy your first Sonic treat. You'll be addicted! Julie will love it, so that's a good thing for you all. I'm sure you'll visit often in the next year.

  6. I have to say, the food at Sonic is fine, but it's the beverages that are the REALLY addicting part. And the ice. Oh, the Sonic Ice. You can buy it by the bag and take it home with you. It's wonderful! :)

  7. That's a great book to get for teen girls. :)

Hey, I saw there were tornadoes in Iowa this morning (I watch the Weather Channel every morning like a geek). Is your are OK?

Have fun at Sonic! I can't believe you've never been there!

  8. Rachel: Yep, tis the season, but we're fine. Just heavy thunderstorms. I'm thinking since we got both the tornado and the massive flooding last year that our odds of getting hit this year are slim...it's only fair right?!? ;)

  9. Sonic was all the rage when Don and I were in Life Action. Of course it was a "southern" thing. It feels weird to have one here! I liked the cherry lemonaid. Not a lime fan...

  10. Oh, my beloved Sonic, how I miss you. You were my first place of employment and I just loved being a carhop on roller skates. I think all that flying around delivering food made up for the fact that I lived on your oreo shakes, hot fudge sundaes, chili cheese dogs, french fries, and onion rings. So as much as I love you, please, please do not come to my town. I don't have skates anymore and I know that eating all that disgustingly greasy goodness would sabotage my new plan to be more healthy!!
