but it'snot

So...I've had some sick kiddos.  Fevers are lame.  Lucy and I spent Saturday morning visiting the Doctor and perusing the aisles at the local pharmacy....where I found this little gem:

Look at the picture!  Both momma and baby smiling as she sucks the snot out with her mouth.  I died laughing...silently of course.

So, none of the snot actually gets in your mouth, still... I'm not sure I could suck on it.

I need to know...could you?

  1. i cannot imagine. how much suction might be required to clean out your little one's nose? might it be like slurping on a straw with a really thick milkshake? what happens when "it" finally gives way? ewwwww... let's leave this for the Swedish babies and mommas.

  2. There is not a word strong enough for how absolutely GROSS that is! The "what if" factor is just too much. I remember when Butter projectile vomited on me, the only thing that saved me from barfing on her was that none of if hit my face. No, NO I will NOT suck the snot from my childs nose, don't they make "Breathe Right" strips for infants?

  3. After having to put my hand in a potty full of poo today to get a toy.... I think I could do just about anything. Motherhood is beautiful and gross.

  5. Right now, no. But desperation can drive you to do things you wouldn't ordinarily do. I think if I had a miserable enough baby, I might do that. But still - ICK!

  6. I've seriously had a huge internal battle over this thing because I've heard it's awesome and works so well, and Manning HATES the bulb syringe, but I just don't know if I can do it... I'm the worst mom ever.

  9. My nephew, originally from Haiti, said that the moms there do this all the time WITHOUT THE STRAW DEVICE in between their mouths and babies' noses. UGH! Yuck! The things you do for love...

  14. That is completely gross and hilarious...that being said YES, if I knew it worked I would use it. :-) Sometimes a mama's got to do what a mama's got to do! :-)

  16. Thank goodness mine can all blow their own noses. I can hardly hold the tissue when they blow all that green stuff out... let alone SUCK IT!

  18. Eew, very gross, but it probably works and let's face it, as moms we do find ourselves doing some pretty gross things, right? Ha!

  19. Hi! I am mom and yes I have the nosefrida! And yes it works and no it does not get in my mouth! I like it because I get the snot out quick unlike the bulb that takes a while to get all the snot out! Just wanted to testify that I love it! Matter of fact, I give it as a baby shower gift!!
