I Am Everyday People

Again today...nothing.

Oh I do have one thing...that's actually quite interesting and meaningful, but you'll have to wait for Monday for that one. I know, I know, you're wondering how on earth you'll make it through the weekend with all the pent up anticipation *insert tongue in cheek*

Points of interest or just points...
  • Jake and I ran to Target this morning because I needed some cold medicine and some Kleenex with vicks (at the recommendation of this real life friend:) Oh sure, there's places closer than Target...but not with a Starbucks inside ;) I'm sick afterall... ;)

  • Those Kleenex with Vicks...best invention ever (next to Starbucks and cooked bacon of course) They are fabulous. You can bet that by the end of this day EVERYONE I come into contact with with be made aware of how wonderful I think they are...cuz I'm annoying like that.

  • This may sound weird (and all you runners out there can go ahead and back me up on this one) but when I have a head cold, running is about the only time it feels better! Weird, I know, but it seriously clears my head.

  • Heee Haw tastes like Mt. Dew...well it's supposed to anyways.

  • Jake and I grooved to this song over and over and over on the way to Target.(I found it on an old WOW CD in my van...I had no idea it was on there...who knew?!?) Go listen, (but not to the first 11 seconds of the video, cuz that's NOT the song...the real song starts at 12 seconds ;) it's a good happy Friday song.

  • Hope ya'll have a fantastic weekend!

  5. I am jealous that you are even near a Target. Seriously. I mean...hello...I heart me some Target.
And I am so in awe that you would run at all...moreover when you are SICK! Girl, I am not worthy to be your bloggy friend. LOL
I am a walker....and I am not enough of one to even SAY that I am one but, you know, it makes me feel better about my INTENTION to exercise. Just being honest. I have other running friends that say its awesome. How do you deal with shin splints?

  6. I'm so sorry you're still sick. Man, it seems like EVERYONE is sick right now! (Thankfully I'm not but Hubby is... I might better go find some wood to knock on.)

I'm with Cassandra, I cannot believe you run with a cold. You're a star for doing that!

Thank you for Nicole C. Mullen - she is my favorite favorite favorite (!!!) female singer!

  7. I bet HEEE HAW is good! Here in PA we have a little something called A-TREAT, kinda like Coke...and then DR BOB, kinda like Dr Pepper...GOOD STUFF!!!!

  8. I've heard that song before, but had no idea N.C. Mullen sang it! Glad the Vicks is helping. Did you try the sinus rinse? Feel better soon!
My sister also informed me a thick layer of Vicks works great when working in a nursing home. None of the "unpleasant odors" seep thru. I think we know someone else I should relay that info to.

  10. Did you give me your sickness? OK, I'm not really "sick," just feel gross and yucky. Now, I'm craving some Starbucks and it's too late. Hate it when that happens.

  11. Hopefully, Hee Haw costs less than Mt. Dew. Otherwise, you really are a hick! :)

    Just kidding, of course.

  13. Sarah,
I just love your blog! I'm happy to have found it this week!
As a future pastor's wife (my hubby is in his 3rd year at Seminary), I can appreciate a lot of what you have to say!
Cheers to living life for Him and having a blast along the way!:)

  14. I remember grooving to the original recording of that song by Sly & the Family Stone. It was on one of my dad's records. I remember going through that WoW CD for the first time and hearing NCM's version. I did my best to dance right there in the van :)

  15. I'm not sure about the Hee-Haw drink...but am glad to know that you like "cooked" bacon over...what...RAW bacon?

With that fully cooked stuff, have you ever tried the broiler trick instead of the microwave? It takes the same amount of time but totally tastes like you fried it up yourself!

We get ours in bulk at Costco...I guess you can tell we are bacon lovers too.

I too am stricken with a cold! If you learn the trick to staying in bed all day, be sure to pass it on!

  16. Sarah,
I'm so sorry you're sick...nothing like a little Tarjay and Starbucks to lift your spirits. I'm with you on those tissues...they're amazing. When I have a head cold, I lay one of those Vicks tissues on my pillow right where my face rests. It really helps you breathe clearer all night long (which in turn helps you sleep!) That's always a good thing 'cause when Momma ain't happy...

And you run when you have a head cold!?! You wild woman! I'm awestruck. I'm pretty sure when I have a headcold, I feel like doing NOTHING except rest.

Take care and get better soon!

  17. I've got a cold too, my friend. And I forced myself to go workout yesterday morning -- even though I couldn't breath and my mind was seriously fogged from cold medicine -- and after 60 minutes of sweating and pumping, I felt much better.

I think you have to listen to your body, but I do believe exercise can be good for your when you're sick -- especially if you're dealing with congestion.

  18. Well, I happen to have an addiction to Mountain Dew....so I CANNOT get past your "HEEE-HAW" drink. I don't even remember what the rest of your post was about.....hahahaha...j/k.

How can I get hooked up with some of THAT stuff??????

I mean, I AM the one who lives in Louisiana. You'd think I could get "HEEE-HAW" Mountain Dew a little easier than YOU!!!

    Go Figure!!!!

Now, I am just plain jealous!

  19. Maybe I could pretend I have a cold, just so I can try those Klenex that I have read about on two blogs now... :)
    Feel better soon!
