The Dead-Bolt is Necessary...

This is why I have to dead-bolt lock our doors...during the day, while I'm home...

He's mastered the art of sneaking out of the house, ever so quietly...to fill up the watering can and then make a mud hole at the bottom of the slide...where he proceeds to play in it...fully clothed.

Did I mention it's like 50 degrees out while he's doing this?

Little rascal.

He's seriously lucky he's so dang cute.

  1. Oh Boy. OH boy. Oh BOY! Them boys are stinkers! What kills me is the look in his sweet eyes. "What Ma? I'm just playing...You told me to go play. SO I thought I'd make some mud. It's ok Mom, I'll clean it all up when I'm done."

  3. Well, I've never had boys, so I can't relate. But girls aren't any better. Like you say, it's just a good thing they are so cute! The sad thing is, mine are 14 and 16 and it doesn't get any better!! ;)

  6. Oh wow! My Chandler took to "taking walks" all alone... we invested in a better lock. I think those "walks" are what caused my grey hair at 27 years old!

  7. You will find yourself in many situations you never thought you would with your boys! Gotta love 'em, 'cause they are definitely "all" boy! I am thankful I have 10 boys and only 2 girls!!!! boys are much easier, no DRAMA; it may be loud and chaotic but so much easier to deal with! He is adorable by the way, and I am sure that picture captures his spirit to a T!

  8. Oh, I remember playin in the mud with my brother making mud pies in the field behind our house. It was so fun. I remember the feel of slapping/patting our huge mud pies with pride. But it was probably hot and summer and moma could hose us down before we even got near the back door.

  9. I think those little dudes all know how to turn on the CUTE! Sarah you little guy is adorable!

    We had to put locks about six inches from the tops of our doors. Yes, our boys have all figured out how to unlock the doors completely. Up high, the locks weren't in reach = even if they climb on a chair. Right now, with the house torn apart, we have to be extra vigilent in keeping track of them.

    Hugs Dear Friend.

  11. Oh, I love that the "rascal" posed for the picture.
    Mine is outside doing similar shinanigans (?? No spell-checker in comments) and our digital thermometer reads 53. If I installed dead-bolts, DH would probably lock himself and all of us out. We got a little green carpet shampoo'er instead.

  12. Such a good thing we never had a boy! I think I would have a heart attack if one of mine would sneak out to make mud. Cuz, you know, my kids NEVER got dirty :}

    What a cutie - how could you ever be mad at him?!

    Hugs!
