Reality

On my mind... (kinda makes me think of a Willie Nelson song...)

  • gotta add $ to the boys lunch accounts because a note came home saying they're $7.30 in the hole...oops.
  • looking at all the "reminder" cards of dentist appointments, flu shots, Fall Party for school sign up sheets, and all the other notes from everywhere that seem to all require something of me.
  • trying to resist the cinnamon rolls sitting on the counter...wishing I hadn't seen that they are 650 calories a piece. Evil yummy things.
  • realizing that I spend a lot of time mentally scolding myself for not getting more accomplished, even though I know all the reasons I shouldn't do that.
  • Trying to figure out how to do a Beth Moore DVD study with my ladies without spending $250 on dvd's (which I'm sure are totally worth it) Tiny church in tiny town probably not gonna think $250 is tiny...and now realizing that my first 4 words of this statement are part of the problem...should read: Seeking God's plan on; instead of trying to figure out...
  • realizing Jake is no longer watching Dora, and is very, very quiet...that's never good. Ever.
  • Wishing I had the right words to encourage a friend.
  • Feeling a heaviness that I can't explain...seems so many around me are dealing with so much, I can't help but hurt for them...but know I'm not meant to carry that heaviness.
  • Gonna go spend some time with Him...the one who can bear all of it.

  1. I just started doing a Beth Moore study with some friends and we were able to borrow the dvd's from a great big church not too far away. They just charge $30 and you borrow one at a time until you're done.

  3. 650 calories equals 6.5 miles of running. But don't let that stop you from having another.

Which Beth Moore were you thinking of doing?

  4. I was just going to suggest what Rachel Marie above suggests. For my office Bible study, my church always allows us to borrow the DVD's. Then, we only need to buy the workbooks. The only condition is we have to chose a study that has already been offered at our church, so we won't be trying to use the DVD's at the same time as the church. Is that an option? Otherwise, you could possibly contact Living Proof and ask if their are churches offering previously viewed studies? Believing WITH YOU there IS a way...He just hasn't revealed it quite yet.

    Blessings,
    Tracy

  5. The association our church is part of has a lot of studies that the churches are able to borrow...just another thought.

I'm sure your friend knows that you're praying. Just being there is often encouragement enough.

And some days, I feel like "didn't accomplish anything" should be scrawled across my forehead. It'll get better :-)

  6. I can relate to most of those bullet points. I too have a friend I need to find the right words for - they are evading me :)
    Praying for you sister.

  7. Hey, I'm so excited! I did a Beth Moore study with my Ladies' Bible study group this last Spring. It's "Living Beyond Yourself, Exploring The Fruit of The Spirit." It was excellent!! Can't say enough good about it. Anyway, my church has the curriculum...want to borrow it? We are now doing Beth Moore's "Jesus, The One and Only". I had to have a yard sale this summer to raise enough money to order it, so I totally understand about not having the money. This offer is real. I'd be so happy if we could help another church. My email is tag@thedomesticfringe.com.

  11. Well I was going to give you some great options on getting a bible study but Melissa, Rachel and Tracy took all my ideas!

I've been resisting the Little Debbie's, that are at this very moment calling my name, ALL day!!

  12. Borrow the dvd's. Or, my friend and I are just doing the workbook and it's been great!

The paperwork from school! I totally get your pain!

Bowed under a heaviness as well...

Praise God, who bears all our burdens!

  14. If you are not close enough to borrow from a bigger church, check into the CD's - they are MUCH cheaper! You can just imagine Beth's sweet face as she talks;)

  15. I'm ready to feel unburdened, too. I want to feel funny and witty instead I seem to be stuck at worried and burdened. Here I come, Jesus. :-)

  16. just do it (eat the cinnamon roll) just ask (maybe another slightly larger church ahem like the one I go to and LOVE has the study and can lend it to you--if that is legal, i assume it would be?) He will provide. as far as lunch money, i am no guidance there, i always get angry notes from my kids school and sometimes they resort to phone calls and emails---ah what is a girl to do?

  17. I love the honesty of this list. It is refreshing to see that someone else has a thousand thoughts going on at one time, some harder than others. Thanks for sharing.

  18. What ARE the reasons you should not scold yourself for not getting more accomplished - I am sincerely curious.
